THE REPORT

of working meeting of the civil initiative
South Caucasus integration: Alternative start
Political conflicts in the South Caucasus are being transformed into increasing confrontation between the nations of the region.

Ineffective political processes of settlement of conflicts have resulted in conditions of non-alternative of public choice between the peace and the war.

The democracy formation is being carried out in the overheated political space. We have become hostages of the political situation.

As a rule, there is a profiteering on the same problems, while the society shows apathy. We pay off for all this with stagnation, with distress of the citizens. Actually our inactivity promotes the escalation of the war.

The efforts of the international community to create necessary conditions for the cooperation of civil institutes usually do not yield results because the invested resources go to the organizations acting as the bearers of the official points of view.

Traditions of good-neighborly relations leading to the existing decrease of peace-making potentials are gradually depreciated.

Proceeding from the aforesaid, we consider:

The active civic stand will produce a serious impact on a situation.

It is essential to adjust meaningful dialogues both inside of each society and between them and involve maximum number of new persons.

The necessity for the alternative concept of civil dialogue has ripened: search for ways of the resolution of conflicts in the level of provision with fundamental human rights and freedoms.
