«Youth Canal» NGO, ARMENIA
«Youth Canal» NGO functions in Vanadzor since November 2003. And is a member of a line of republican, regional and international networks, «Audiovisual network of youth and media organizations», WITNESS, VOI International etcetera.
On January 19, 2007 «Youth Canal» NGO undersigned the initiative of a line of authority human rights defender NGOs to address ministers of foreign affairs from UN member countries concerning corrections and additions into the new strategy of the UN Security Commission.
We are in cooperation with: the Armenian Ministry of youth and sport, The Parliament commission for youth, Regional department of Lori, Municipality of Vanadzor, the community department officials, foundations and companies, with public youth and student organizations and unions, the press, cultural organizations, and sport communities.
The members of the organization have participated in many international festivals and competitions, educational programs and seminars. There is an active involvement of volunteers in the realization of our projects and activities. The number of volunteers varies and it goes up to as much as 70 people depending on the size of the event.
«Youth canal» NGO initiated, organized and realized various cultural events: Student television festivals, youth art shows, photography, sculpting, and graffiti: concerts with young singers and the making of music videos (with the participation of Lori “T.V.” and the Vanadzor Theatre of Song); intellectual games and entertaining events; sports events, camping trips.
On December 18, 2007, within the limitations of a grant program provided by the Ministry of the Youth Affairs and Sports, an art show was organized for young artists, it was called “Nerdashnakutiyun” (“Harmony”).
The following programs were realized: April to September - the “Nationality - Human” festival in Vanadzor, with the support of Eurasia partnership Foundation.
March to April of 2007 - a volunteer program “Public announcement of correcting the electoral codex”.
In March 2007– «Sorting out the help for the residents of 6th county of Lori region », a charity project of distributing clothing to approximately 400 families («IRD»)
From April to November 2006 – an entertainment show “Romeo and Juliet”, which shed some light about the problems of modern youth, and introduced new talents. (The hosts were members of «The youth Canal» «Lori-T.V.»,)
From August to October 2006 – «The creation of a youth network in the regions of Lori and Shirak» (youth НПОs and student advisory comities)
In February 2006 – «Complex medical evaluation» - A charity project. 110 young people were serviced (in cooperation of the Sonogram Center)
From September 2005 to February 2006 «Youth: what is our mission?», a grant program (CPDD)
In September 2005 – «Distribution of help to socially unstable youth», a charity project, distributing sports clothing to 300 young people from nearby counties («World Vision»)
